Phrases You'll Say During Any Given Kdrama

Ever been watching a KDrama and suddenly something happens on screen and some phrase comes out of your mouth. If you're new to the Kdrama world, this may not have happened to you yet but experienced KDrama addicts have at least a few key phrases! Here are some of my favorites!

"Rich-Bitch Needs To Die"

Don't act like you've never said it, like during The Nice Guy/Innocent Man and the ex-girlfriend started acting all bitchy when she clearly had no right..yeah..I know Firnlambe and I were not the only ones to want her dead, or at the very least taken out of commission...forever...

"Annnndddd There's Our Second Lead..."

This phrase can either be thought silently or (if you're like me) said out loud but either way when the Second Male Lead presents itself there is always a dawning of understanding that this character will be perfect and he will also end up alone at the end of the Kdrama. You're Beautiful is the prime example for this scenario. As soon as Jong Yong Hwa hit the screen, his swoon-worthy eyes basically screamed "This Kdrama will be painful for me!"

"Daddy's an Asshole"

This phrase can also be exchanged with "Mommy's a Bitch" all depending on who is going to be the parental bad guy for any given Kdrama. This phrase is usually uttered in disbelief after Daddy-O or Mommy-Dearest does some despicable action against their child. This action could be anything from putting their child under house arrest or forcing their child's love interest to move away to some undisclosed location such as in Heirs. Doesn't matter which, the point is...Daddy/Mommy is a horrible person...

"No..No...No! What Are You Doing!"

This phrase is pretty self explanatory but since I like to talk, I'll explain anyway. This phrase is universal; it isn't gender specific or even character specific, this literally could be said at any time for any reason. For me, this phrase is usually preserved for the female lead when she does something utterly ridiculous such as the woman in Jung Yi: Goddess of Fire. That woman was infuriating...

"Oh God, Stop...Just Stop...Oh Jeez"

You remember that scene in My Lovely Sam Soon when she gets up to dance and the lights get low and red low lights shine in the background and she's in that sexy mini-black dress? You know...the one where we all covered our eyes and said "Oh God, no...this can be...no..just...just stop no..." and it was revealed that she was actually hop-skipping on stage in front of all her new coworkers AND her boss..? Yeah, that's where this phrase comes in. It's for those awkward moments that are so painful that audience is covering their eyes praying for it to end quickly...

If you have any of your own key phrases, please feel free to comment below and let me know what they are and see if I haven't said it myself a time or two!
