KDrama Kisses That Didn't Disappoint

Anybody who is anybody that has watched Kdramas knows you are just as likely to get an super awkward "Oh my God, girl close your eyes!" type of kiss than you are to witness a kiss that is worth dreaming about. However, they do happen. Here is Part 1 of my list of KDrama Kisses that Didn't Disappoint!

Firnlambe here ^-^ It's been a while since I stalked Aunnie's blog and since this is such a lovely gem of a post I figured I'd add my 2 cents.

That's right, first on the list is The Master's Sun. It was a wonderful drama steeped in the supernatural and angst-type love but there is one thing that So Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin did beautifully and it was kissing. Although in this scene, So Ji Sub's character was getting rid of a ghost that was inhabiting his lady love's body, he really could have chosen any type of physical contact to do it which just makes this kiss so much more enjoyable.

I TOTALLY agree 110% on this kiss. This . . this kiss was totally worth every emotional spike it sent into our hearts . . . It's so great I can hear the OST playing in the background and the feels are still able to directly affect to my heart even while in GIF form.

Next up is the kiss in Heirs. First off, the two actors (Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye) kissed as if their very lives depended on the taste of each other's lips and it was a very intense scene that...quite frankly...took the audience by surprise. Of course, these two had kissed previously to this scene but it wasn't very romantic....or sexy. I'm sure we all cheer a "Hell Yes" when this scene finally happened.

It's always nice to see a couple actually put forth emotions into their kiss . . . and like Aunnie said, this one was one we, as the audience, had been waiting the entire drama for. I also find it to hold a special place for me personally, because I read that Park Shin Hye was not privy to the fact that Lee Min Ho was going to kiss her as strongly as he did. I don't remember where I read it, but the article mentioned that the director did that so her reactions would be more real.

I did not know that...now I love this scene even more!

Speaking of kisses that totally took us by surprise, My Love From Another Star definitely had us gasping "Omo!" when Kim Soo Hyun's character all but yanked Jeon Ji Hyun over to his side of the couch and laid a steady one on her lips. I guess he wasn't so unaffected by her as he lead us to believe...silly alien...

Yet another kiss that sends my Kdrama heart into overdrive . . . this was just a perfectly timed kiss, it had the potential to become a disaster (when Ji Hyun did not immediately close her eyes) but thankfully we were saved from that sad fate.

The talk of 2007 was Coffee Prince. The controversy surrounding the idea that two men could fall in love with each other seemed pretty large although the airing of this drama was well before my time in the KDrama world. This kiss was both shocking and intense for a multitude of reasons but mostly because Gong Yoo's character, a straight man, made the decision to kiss the person he loved--seemingly another man. Although technically, it was a woman pretending to be a man but the point stands that he kissed "him" without the knowledge of her true identity.

Aunnie is determined to kill me on this post . . . yet again, this kiss makes the feels move even in GIF form. It probably helps that this couple had some SERIOUS chemistry, like ::phew:: they pull off an intense love very realistically. *fans self*

Although this kiss isn't nearly as close to the intensity as the previous ones, this kiss in Flower Boy Next Door was still no less not disappointing. I place this one on the list because we'd been waiting for these two to admit their feelings for each other for 11 episodes. When they finally did kiss, the audience cheered for them while still wiping away tears. The kiss definitely lacked fiery passion but the emotions certainly didn't.

We were waiting for this kiss, weren't we? Not all great kisses need to have that fiery passion. It's nice to see ones where, the emotional feels that have been leading up to them, have a chance to escape every once and a while . . . . . does that make sense to you people? or does it only really make sense in my brain, cuz that does tend to happen lol

This kiss...This is one hell of a kiss and definitely one of the the most intense kisses in any Kdrama I've ever seen. Me Too, Flower, despite what others may say, was a good Kdrama. I felt sincere enjoyment while I watched these two people struggle to find a peace between them given their very tumultuous lives and tragic pasts. But back to the kiss, the kiss itself started out pretty...ugly mostly because Yoon Si Yoon's character was attempting to make a point but it turned into well....this....

Ohhhhhh this kiss . . . . this is the first kiss that honestly made me say, out loud mind you, "Damn" lol and it was for a number of reasons; 1 - our leading lady, after the initial kiss, actually goes back in for more. This is virtually unheard of in Kdrama land and 2 - Like Aunnie said, it is a little ugly, but I found that to just bring a whole lot more realism to the kiss . . . And lets be honest here . . I'm fairly certain that almost each and everyone of you do not kiss a perfect kiss when in the middle of a hot and heavy make out session, you probably act more like these two instead.

Yes, even I admit that this .gif looks funny because it's so fast but let me explain...this make out session masquerading as a "kiss" actually lasted for more than a minute. That's a long kiss scene  for any Kdrama. This .gif merely covers maybe half of the kiss itself. Here is the entire clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWUoudR7nFE (P.s. I own no rights)

No one can say that Gu Family Book lacked passion. Hell, to those who watched it, there was never a dull moment! Between the love story between Lee Seung Gi's character's parents and his own...Phew...man... However the first time the leading couple kisses, the passion was so strong that Lee Seung Gi's powers inadvertently cause blue nature lights to start swirling around them. That's passion!

::sigh:: Lee Seung Gi . . . . boy can that man kiss. I have yet to see a drama where (during a very emotional moment) he has disappointed me. The amount of feels from this "she's mine" scene was by far the most feels off the whole damn list, plus his green eyes were an added bonus to the already awesome floating blue orbs of emotion. Seriously I'm not joking . . . . no matter how strong they may think they are, those eyes could probably break any girl's will to not kiss. I mean, do you see how fast Suzy's character becomes putty in Kangchi's hands?

Bringing up the rear of Part 1 of Kdrama Kisses that Didn't Disappoint is this forbidden kiss from Unemployed Romance. Just how did this kiss make the list? This kiss was 14 years in the making, that's how! This couple dated for ten years and struggled to make it work despite lacking the life-skills they'd need to make their love a successful one. After four years of separation and a lot of hard feelings between these two, she was there when he was absolutely at his worst. The end result was a sad kiss full of need and trust and well...love...between these two destined couple.

As I have not watched this drama I will just have to take Aunnie's word for it.

That concludes this first installment of Kdrama Kisses that Didn't Disappoint. I hope you all enjoyed the visuals and revisit my blog in the near future to see if maybe your favorite kdrama kiss didn't make the soon-to-follow installments.

Feel free to leave me comments on what was your favorite Kdrama kiss--I'm always open to new Kdramas with decent kiss scenes.
