Camping in Acadia National Park

I adore all things nature, which is why my birthday trip this year involved camping and hiking. Earlier this summer, we packed up the car and took our first trip to Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor Maine. And lucky for us, Acadia is the most dog friendly park in the National Park Service, so we took PJ along too. We spent our nights camping right along the lakefront while our days involved trekking through Acadia's most iconic hikes...Jordan's Pond, the Bubbles, and Cadillac Mountain which is the first place the sun rises each day.
We had so many people along the trail ask us if we had to carry our little pup. And the answer is no. He pretty much ran the whole way up all 10 miles of the mountain. There were a few spots where he was too small and needed a little help, but otherwise we were having trouble keeping up with him.

We ended everyday with sunsets at our lakefront camp site. Crashing waves and a roaring fire are the best for a sound night of sleep.
And before we left, we had to take our classic photo with the entrance sign. Acadia marks our 9th national park that we've visited together…only 50 more to go!
