Fireworks in Boston

Wanderlust Wednesday-Week 17
After spending an amazing 4th of July weekend in Vermont, we headed back to Boston to officially celebrate the Monday holiday. We've actually never spent the 4th here in Boston because we've always been traveling. And we've definitely been missing out! Boston is one of the best places to be for America's birthday since this city played such big role in earning it's freedom. That being said, Boston really shows off on the fourth of July.
We brought along our camping chairs, which breakdown and fit right into my purse. These seats made things extra comfy while we were waiting for the fireworks to begin.
Thankfully, Boston's fireworks are set off from a barge in the Charles River, so our wait involved the best view of Boston's pretty skyline right at sunset.
pretty pink skies turned into bright golden buildings
We managed to snap a few photos of this best fireworks show, but we mostly spent our time simply enjoying it AND dodging ash falling from the sky.

We were so close to the fireworks, that debris was landing in my hair. It took 2 full days to wash out all the ash, but it was totally worth it to see these amazing fireworks in Boston.
Hope you all had a really amazing 4th of July!
