Village Hotel Changi // Ubin Adventure

Remember my instagram updates on my staycation at Village Hotel Changi about a month ago? I was lucky to be invited by Far East Hospitality, which is the largest hotels and serviced residences operator in Singapore for a complimentary 2D1N 'Ubin Adventure' package staycation at Village Hotel Changi!
This staycation came just at the right time when I really needed it so I was super looking forward to the stay! Aren't staycations the best?? Kinda feels like 'Hey I am out of Singapore' but it doesn't really break the bank in a sense~
Located just 10mins away from Changi International Airport, Village Hotel Changi is a multi-award winning hotel that offers a retreat from the urban and a corridor to the rustic - Pulau Ubin.

Then H and I went out to grab some food! Good thing about staying here?LOTS. OF. GOOD. FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not even kidding!There's the famous Changi Village Hawker Centre well known for their Nasi Lemak, Ipoh Hor Fun etc, there's Chock Full of Beans for the brunch lovers, there's Chocolate Origin and lots of new desserts cafes too!! You don't have to worry about being starved while staying here. LOVE IT!!H and I decided to try out this new Thai restaurant we came across called 'Pranakorn' and both of us absolutely love it!!! Super affordable too please. The Thai food here is L.E.G.I.T! Especially the tomyum... Ahhh I miss it already!!


I think this whole meal including drinks + desserts only $30++?? I remembered it being less than $40! Super worth it yes??? Think this shall be my go-to-restaurant when I crave for thai food from now on!

H and I then spent the rest of the day nua-ing and watching back-to-back movies non stop inside the room!! Doesn't help it that the bed was so comfy, I really didn't want to get out of it. Hahahhaa. I almost wanted to give up dinner yknow and just.... rot in the room. LOL. But since H already made a reservation for us at La Cantina (situated at the top floor of the hotel), I dragged my lazy ass up~




The food was not that bad honestly. Perhaps we read too many good reviews of the restaurant till we had a certain expectation of it (esp H) so it kinda fell short. But still, worth a try :)

The rooftop pool was really pretty though, especially during the night when it's accompanied with fairy lights :)

We got ourselves a bottle of white wine from The Wine Company located at the lobby of the hotel and drank it in the room while watching movies again! What a perfect way to end a perfect day :)



Up bright and early the next day and finally, I could see the sea from my windows!!It was super hazy the previous day till I couldn't even make out what was beyond the trees. Lol


Time for buffet breakfast!




Fuelled up and off we went to Pulau Ubin!!Under the 'Ubin Adventure' package, we had a free 3 hour bicycle rental to raw, untouched Pulau Ubin, which is often considered as Singapore's last kampongs.


Honestly... I think this was my first time to Pulau Ubin.....?Hmmm, I don't seemed to have any recollections on this island so..~ Lol I was kinda excited to check it out!




Cycled non stop for almost 30mins-ish and finally arrived at Chek Jawa Wetlands!!The route here wasn't easy though. Half the time it was on a normal proper concrete floor which was easy, but the other half, it was on a rocky/stony paths which made the cycling quite challenging!

That morning was certainly interesting and an eye-opener for me as I got to unearth a different side of Singapore! I think we Singaporeans should visit Pulau Ubin at least once in their lifetime~ It was quite a great experience! So if you haven't been here before, now you know where to go if you're bored on a weekend ;)

Arrived back in the hotel with some spare time left (as the Ubin Adventure package comes with a late check-out at 3pm!!) and so I went for a dip in the pool!! SO SHIOKKK since the weather was scorching hot!
