The Realities Of Being A Blogger

It's been just over a week, have you finished watching the third season of Orange Is The New Black (OITNB)? I am about half way through the season with about 7 episodes left. So far, I'm not really all that impressed - nothing really beats the first season.

OITNB gif

I'm not interested in talking about OITNB episodes - I want to talk about the SHU for a moment. If you are not an OITNB watcher then get out of here, the SHU is the Solitary Housing Unit or Special Housing Unit. You know, if you act out or get too many 'shots' you are headed directly to the SHU to be isolated from any human contact. Well I'm not going to lie, blogging feels like the SHU. Not that I've been in the SHU before.

Blogging is so very isolating. And highly composed. And staged. Gasp - did I just say staged?!

That meal that you saw so beautifully photographed was cold when I ate it.
Getting the perfect shot while running or working out turns from running 3 miles to 5 +.
My house isn't always picked up but I move all background crap before capturing the photo.

I've learned that not everyone that comes here to read are bloggers. They might not understand the whole concept of blogging and some of the terminology. But they come here interested in something and sometimes, they'll leave a comment. And boy, do I love comments. I love comments for so many reasons and I encourage you to say something - anything at all, if you are here reading!

When I write posts without any comments, I know my view count is just a view count. My friends and family don't call or message me about my posts, I don't get emails with questions or comments. I come here and write, and compose, and stage activities for just a view count.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love it, but maybe this makes me a bit insane. Take me to the SHU because in my head I think that one day my audience will turn into my friends. If I was in Federal, I know I would at least have one friend...

So I will sit here alone in my office, typing up posts and filling up my calendar with content for your viewing pleasure. I will create a place setting for multiple people when I am actually only photographing a scene with myself. Everything I share here is authentic and 100% my life - I may just spruce up a few things so that I don't appear to be a complete loner.

Prove me wrong. I dare you to leave a comment below - I got my eyes on you.
