Kpop Dance Moves: [Comeback Edition]

Yes, it's been a few months and I'm back with another set of favorite dance moves! This time it'll be a little different. I'm going to focus on the most recent set of comebacks. I mean, what did you expect when Super Junior and BTS had comebacks . . . or the fact that Taemin had a solo debut? Of course I needed to find some new moves! So, Read More to see my [Comeback Edition] of my Kpop Dance Moves series.

Let's just get the obvious out of the way. Here is the update on my love for all dance moves BTS-related. Seriously, these boys never cease to impress me with their moves . . .

Their "Danger" choreography was, once again, a dance to remember.

Their flawless and accurate timing not only continues to show their dedication to their art but an unwavering connection each member has with each other.

I'd like to know how much work actually goes into their choreography. Not just BTS but all the groups that are known for being in sync as much as BTS is, like SHINee, Infinite, and SPEED.

It's the little stuff that I appreciate; for instance, the fact that when they're dancing as a group, no individual stands out but then they have moves where everyone is doing something different and if you look at only one person, you don't see the the whole picture so you have to step back and look at what all the individual dance moves create as a whole. Does that make sense? I hope so . . .

Now it's time for . . .

Yup, you knew this was coming as well. Taemin is one of the most popular kpop dancers so when it was announced he was going solo, you better believe he was debuting with awesome moves. Although, his moves are very different than BTS . . . the kid is fluid! Well, the "Ace" dance moves are damn fluid anyway . . .

His movies are very precise; he has great control over all of his movements and no limb is out of place unless Taemin wants it to be . . .

However his "Danger" choreography is anything but. His moves are still precise but they are not fluid! They're edgier, a bit more choppy and it fits him perfectly. These dance moves have a more Taemin flair to them and they're great. I especially like his "wing span" move in this song

Yes, yes, yes, we are, of course, going to mention the "Pretty Boy" dance. This was a highly anticipated performance because Taemin features Exo's Kai--his best friend--and they dance on stage together. This was bound to happen at some point . . .

"Pretty Boy" had, what I can only describe as, an SM feel to it.  Aside from the Kaimin--Taekai?-- dance off, the dancing was relatively simple and geared more towards the fans due to the identity of the performers more than choreographic creativity. Doesn't mean Taemin and Kai didn't pull it off perfectly well.  I particularly like Kai's "That's right, we pulled it off" face after the jacket was successfully removed without a hitch.

But enough of Taemin! We have one more group to get through . . . Yes, that group is Super Junior. First, lets have a collective and resounding applause for the Super Junior comeback--if only because Leeteuk is back in his rightful place as leader. Now that that's done, lets get down to the specifics!

Despite "Mamacita" being more of a comedic satire-themed music video, there were a few moves that were enjoyable. Aside from those, however, Mamacita was slightly disappointing in the dance department.

Kudos to SM for the concept though!

Then there is "Shirts" . . .

I think the song may finally be growing on me after my immediate aversion to the live performance of the song. Which is rare and highly unexpected. Normally, I prefer live performances over music videos  but this time, I think that performance can stay well away from my Youtube History list. But there was one section that appealed to me . . .

But it's okay because it's Super Junior and let's be serious, after 9 years, we don't care because we just love the members.  They could probably come out on stage dressed as deranged birds and we'd still love it. Not that I suggest that but Mamacita, although more for the comedy, is exactly what we love coming from Super Junior.

And then there's this . . . It kind of makes up for it.

Hope you agreed with some of my choices for this Kpop Dance Moves: [Comeback Edition]. In my quest to learn more about Kpop, I will try and watch a more variety of MVs/Live Performances to get a better range of groups for my Kpop Dance Moves.
