Kpop Dance Moves

TVXQ Mirotic (Xia Junsu)
While it's no secret that Kpop artists train for years, what is surprising is the sheer amount of good dancers that come from this country! I swear, Korea should monopolize on this-oh wait..they do. Moving on...

Rather than discussing my favorite dancers--which I'm sure will be a blog at some point--I've made these pretty gifs to illustrate some of my most favorite dance moves!

Let's see if some of mine have made your list too!

Don't be surprised if some of these come from their dance practice videos because sometimes their MV's don't show the whole move... (Also because I know someone will say something if I don't, I am truly not trying to be SM biased...they just have great choreography!)

Just Makes Me Wanna Wave Back!
Although Boyfriend has garnered some attention for their songs such as "Boyfriend", "Janus" & "I Yah", this group is still very much in the rookie stage. I hope they'll be able to pull themselves out of the minor leagues and into the major leagues but so far it's been slow going.  If you have watched any of these boys' dance practices, it's not hard to see that they are all very talented dancers and usually have pretty good dance sequences in all of their songs however their song "Boyfriend" has a particularly well choreographed dance move that I can't help but appreciate.

Vixx hit the Kpop scene in 2012 and have been on an excellent rampage ever since. This is a great example of a Kpop Dance Group (and of course they can sing). 99% of the time they are in sync, lined up perfectly and consistently pull off their challenging dance moves to perfection. I have never been disappointed by anything that this group has produced and am earnestly waiting for their next project whenever / whatever that might be. Because of their excellently executed dancing, I couldn't simply narrow down my favorite Vixx dance moves to just one but three: 1) Hyde; 2) Voodoo Doll; and 3) G.R.8.U.

~~~~~~~~
Infinite is also known to be a great dancing/singing group and has many elaborate dance moves--maybe not as many as Vixx but close. Granted, I had a mildly difficult time finding a dance move of theirs that I enjoyed more than another but then I remembered...their song "Before The Dawn" had a move that blew the rest of their dances out of the water. There is one move in particular that consistently awes me and if you don't already know this move, then you are sorely missing out. I had to watch several live performances to make sure that this was not a move that was CGI-ed for the sake of the MV and I can assure it, these boys can certainly do this move without the help of computers.
Leo...get out of here, you've had your time...
Another dance troupe is EXO, there is just a plethora of dance moves that are quite impressive coming from this group. They have, most recently, been recognized for their efforts through their one-shot music video "Growl" wherein they performed the dance and completed the entire MV in a single take. If that wasn't awesome in itself, they did it again when they shot the Chinese Version. Aside from Kai's one mistake that he flawlessly covered up, the song has already won 2013 Song of the Year and is currently nominated for Best Dance for the Korean Music Awards. I've been able to narrow down my favorite moves to two: Mama & History.
~~~~~~~~

Man, this is getting harder by the minute! SHINee, another 99% spot on dance group is known of their lithe bodies and expert positioning. Of course, having Minho and Taemin doesn't hurt. SHINee is able to consistently make themselves perfectly aligned or have their body's in perfect symmetry with each other and that's all we can ask for a dance group. Chaos is cute for pandas, not on stage and SHINee never leaves us disappointed. These two dance moves come from their song "Sherlock" (Clue + Note).

Dammit Leo..Shoo!...Shoo!

Closing out this blog is none other than....of course it's Super Junior, I mean...*ticks off fingers* Taemin, Kai, N...the only group left is Eunhyuk's Super Junior. Granted, it was a coin flip between Eunhyuk and Donghae but still, the point is these legendary dancers have earned the right to bring their respective groups to the dancing spotlight. *sighs* and Yes, once again, it's SM Entertainment...not my fault that SM is Zeus of Kpop's Mount Olympus, alright?

First, I'd like to express how difficult it is to get a good quality gif from a song that was done 7 years ago...it's difficult. Second, I'd like to explain how hard it is to capture a high-action pack dance move in under 15 seconds...it's hard. So, with that having been said, my favorite dance for Super Junior remains to this day "Don't Don". It's really the whole dance that grabs my attention and has my eyes fixated on the screen until the song is finished. The dance moves are vibrant, they're complicated and everyone is in sync during this song. It's hard not to be when you need to finagle 13 people and a violinist. I did the best I could to capture a singular dance move...

Well, those are some of my favorite dance moves, did any of these catch your eyes? Let me know your own personal favorite in the comments below!
